Summary of Essential Job Functions:•Handles all telephone calls, transfers calls to appropriate parties and greats and directs visitors•Transfers calls to voicemail or takes messages and delivers them to the appropriate person in a timely manner•Distributes incoming mail, copies and faxes documents in a timely manner •Emergency situations with clients/caregivers/providers are referred to appropriate parties•Maintains unit specific documentation as per department guidelines and regulatory standards•Provides assistance to staff and clerical support as needed•Attends department meetings and in-services as needed
Education:High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:6 months of related experience preferably in a healthcare setting
Abilities Required:•Proficient in Microsoft Office products•Demonstrated ability to handle busy switchboard•Costumer Service Skills, Bilingual (English/Spanish) required•Knowledge of Medical Terminology•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills•Demonstrated caring attitude/ability to work with geriatric patients
Environment Work Conditions:Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation
Infectious Material Exposure:No routine exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues, but may occasionally require performing unplanned activities which may involve exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues
