Plans, develops, and executes effective communication campaigns to promote the assigned unit's programs. Fosters student success by creating communication programs that increase student recruitment, engagement and retention, as well as producing engaged alumni.  
1. Develops communication and promotional campaigns for assigned unit, working with managers and creative staff to determine timelines, budgets, and the best way to present information that advances the unit's brand and creative strategies. 

2. Identifies main prospect groups and audiences, determines the best way to communicate and engage audiences to elicit desired outcomes, and develops and implements a communication plan. 

3. Reviews trends, consumer surveys, and other data regarding marketing to determine the best way to promote programs and services. 

4. Consults with clients and media/marketing staff to obtain information on services and discuss style and length of copy. 

5. Discusses with the client the product, themes and methods, and any changes that should be made. 

6. Conducts research and interviews to determine which of a program's features should be promoted. 

7. Writes interesting and effective press releases, prepares information for media kits, and develops and maintains company internet or intranet web pages. 

8. Writes articles, letters, speeches, and/or other related informative, persuasive, and promotional material. 

9. Writes copy for use by publication, broadcast, or internet media to promote programs and services. 

10. Writes to audiences in their terms and on their level so that the message is more readily received. 

11. Varies language and tone of messages based on product and medium. 

12. Edits or rewrites existing copy as necessary, and submits copy for approval. 

13. Prepares and presents drafts and ideas to clients. 

14. Maintains or monitors departmental and/or program websites.

15. Collaborates with marketing staff to ensure college web and digital media sites positively impact enrollment. 

16. Participates in the development or implementation of online marketing strategy. 

17. Creates and implements content strategies for digital media. 

18. Collaborates with other marketing staff to integrate and complement marketing strategies across multiple channels. 

19. Produces visual content (including graphics, photos, and video) for website and digital media use. 

20. Collaborates with web, multimedia, or art design staffs to create multimedia Web sites or other internet content that conforms to brand and university visual format. 

21. Establishes or maintains cooperative relationships with representatives of community, student, employee, alumni, and/or public interest groups. 

22. Assists with program development via attendance at college events conducive to the recruiting and enrollment of potential students. 

23. Participates in college and university committee activities as assigned. 

24. Completes special projects as assigned. 

25. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
